Bayfeild
A television pilot about a girl whose body washes up on shore days before the town’s yearly celebration, “Apple Fest”. Inspired by an experience form writers, Daryl Motte and Brian Kalish, where they were once told by a boat captain, “ People come up here (Bayfeild, Wisconsin) to get away, not to be noticed.”
While vacationing in the beautiful, quiet lake town of Bayfield, Wisconsin, writers Daryl Motte and Brian Kalish watched as a party yacht floated on the water with no lights or movement. This event led them to ask their boat captain a question:
”What would happen if something went wrong and they needed help? How long would it take for someone to even notice?” Their Captains’ response… could be “days, weeks… before anyone even noticed. People come up here to get away, not to be noticed.”
In collaboration with many talented artists, Max Fabian (Director of “Bayfeild”) and Tightrope Recording brought the team together to create the proof of concept and short sizzle. While on location, they navigated filming on tour boats, flying drones in National Forests, and even teaming up with the Coast Guard. These collaborations led to them being able to capture the essence of both the beauty and possible terror that could occur in a place so remote.
